Thankful memories

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never,
ever have enough." Oprah Winfrey

A way to gather thankful memories is by some do-it-yourself crafting with the card that is used for our gratitude strands. If you turn the sandy side you will see an instruction for cutting the paper (alas in Dutch). Cut the continuous lines, then fold along the dotted line and you can use this as a support for the plastic box. So you can keep these packaging particles as a memories-safe. Photo-instructions on how to do it can be found here. And if you want to order a strand (we do have an English information booklet) you can either send us an e-mail or have a look in our Dutch webstore.

Sixteen beads

We use 16 beads for our strands of gratitude beads. Why? To really count our blessings, one by one. The proportion 10:16 can be found in holy geometry. The Roman architect Vitruvius, an inspiration to Leonardo da Vinci, also recognised that 10 and 6 (=16) are both numbers to reflect the human proportion. It is also linked to pi and the golden ratio.
In the pyramids of Gizeh, the Chartres Cathedral and other 'wisdom' buildings this ratio can be found. This ratio calls upon our sense of beauty.
When combining 16 similar forms (such as in our strands) it will have healing energy. The forms themselves, the material they are made of and the pendant will also carry their own energy. And of course the intentions, both of the people who made the gratitude strand and of the person using it. Want to try one for yourself? Please have a look in our web store . We can send the strands around the world (up to now we covered Canada, Australia and several European countries) and have an English information booklet. If the information in the web store (in Dutch) is difficult to understand please contact us in English and we will work things out.

Something of value

smiling buddha
There is a Chinese saying: "When someone shares with you something of value, you have an obligation to share it with others". With gratitude this attitude is really convincing. Gratitude beads remind you of what is really important in your life, what is really worthy of worthwhile.
So, with a nice strand of gratitude beads, and buddha smiling at you, you can give a gift to others. We do have an English borchure for our foreign customers, please contact us if you would like to order (since our website an webshop are in Dutch).

Gratitude beads

Well, we did start something called Dankbaarheidstrengen in the Netherlands, and while working on an English translation of the booklet we provide for them we thought it wise to strat blogging our way in English as well. But for now there is not much time for this blog, so we refer you to the Dutch equivalents www.dankbaar.org (our website), our blog and our webshop for now.
